Cooking with Rosetta - A taste of Sicily

March 5, 2010; 6:30pm – 9:30pm

In a “Taste of Sicily”, we travel to Palermo where you will learn how to make some favorite dishes of my adopted city. For our first course, we will make pasta with cauliflower,flavored with saffron, raisins and pine nuts, followed by pork rolls stuffed and grilled which will be accompanied by a simple salad of fresh fennel and oranges. We'll also make a large batch of Caponata to enjoy as an appetizer and side dish. We will end the meal with cream puffs filled with homemade chocolate gelato.

Caponata
(Sweet and Sour Eggplant stew)

Pasta con Broccoli Arriminati
(Bucatini pasta with cauliflower, raisins, pine nuts and saffron all tossed together and topped with toasted breadcrumbs)

Spiedini di Maiale
(Stuffed Pork bundles skewered and grilled)


Insalata di Finocchi e Arance
(Fresh fennel and orange salad)

Profiteroles con Gelato di Cioccolato
(Cream puffs filled with homemade chocolate gelato)
